Sleep Apnea and Snoring
Does your spouse snore? Do you hate your CPAP and have stopped wearing it? There are other alternatives. Give yourself the gift of a good night’s sleep.
The key to having energy for your daily activities is an open airway and oxygen! People who snore or have sleep apnea do not get restful sleep and are often:
• Tired upon waking
• Fall asleep during the day or very quickly
• Lack energy for exercise and normal activity
• Have trouble focusing at work or school
The related fatigue can lead to metabolic syndrome which is due to lack of energy, inactive lifestyle, obesity (weight gain), heart disease, and diabetes.
When breathing is interrupted, blood oxygen levels drop. This creates oxygen free radicals and inflammatory proteins which are linked to heart disease, stroke, diabetes, obesity and high blood pressure.
Help break this life threatening cycle by getting fitted for an oral appliance to keep the airway open and stop the snoring/sleep apnea.
Dr. Cate will work closely with sleep physicians to tailor a treatment that will work for you. CPAP and Airway dilators (FDA Approved oral appliances) are not a cure, it is a treatment (a good treatment!)
Children should not snore – please let us know if they do so regularly.
